$ 1,000,000 to maid who gave 13 YEARS of excellent service

$ 1,000,000 to maid who gave 13 YEARS of excellent service
According to tonight's SHIN MIN paper pg 2 a retired teacher, upon her death, bequeathed $1 000 000 dollars to her maid who served excellently for 13 yrs caring for her.
Yes, it's $1 000 000!!
This is not the 1st case whereby an employer leaves such a large amount of money to the maid.
In 2010 a lady doctor also bequeathed $6 000 000 and an apartment to her maid for excellent care of her and her mother.
So, employers out there who want to keep their maid for 15 to 20 years of service how much would you want to reward her upon her return to her country?
Some maids are really good. Of course there are some lousy ones. I have a neighbour whose maid worked for more than 20 years from the day their son was borne. The son has already completed his uni. She is still working for the family.
It is also a 2-way traffic. The couple is very humble and we never knew she is a doctor even though we were in good talking terms because she was semi-retired and appear like a typical "Ah Soh" until one day the wife's mother told us.
Nearly every maid that worked for me, except for one, I gave them one month for each year of service. This is given when she does not want to continue anymore so that they have a big sum to bring home and they are not allowed to bring cash home only TT as don't want them to get rob on the way home.
Most of them worked about 4 years and either missed their family or got married. One worked 8 years.
On the question whether I would do the same, it depends on many factors, one of which is whether I have the money to give.
In the above case, the person either does not have other relatives or have relatives who do not care about her. So she gave it to the person who really took care of her in her dying years. BTW it is not easy to take care of sickly senior citizens.
The other case of the Orchard Rd condo unit given to the maid was well known.
