Barisan Nasional the underdog in Kajang by-election, says Najib

Datuk Seri Najib Razak (pic) today admitted that the Barisan Nasional (BN) was going into the Kajang by-election as the underdog but pledged to work doubly hard to ensure the best possible outcome.
On BN's candidate, MCA vice-president Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, the prime minister said: "We will support her and we wish her well.
“We are going in as underdogs this time but BN will work extra hard to ensure the best possible outcome," Najib told reporters after chairing the Umno supreme council meeting at its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
Najib, who is also Umno president, said five party members have been sacked by its disciplinary board for sabotaging the party during the GE13 last year.
The five are Baharim Abdullah (Kuala Pilah Division), Abdul Muhsin Sharif and Mohd Amri Che Aat (Tasek Gelugor), Hasan Bahari Mat Isa (Jempol) and Zulkifli Zakaria (Bachok).
Their offences include campaigning for the opposition.
Najib also said the Cabinet would discuss the water crisis at the Cabinet meeting next Wednesday.
He said the government was prepared to do cloud seeding but that new rain clouds were needed.
Even mosques dedicated solat hajat today to pray for rain, he added.
He also called on the people to be prudent in their use of water.
