A T-Team player who claimed that it was safe for his team to continue playing the second half of their match against Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) in a Malaysian League match last week has been pictured by his own team as warming up on the field at half-time.
Muhd Irfan Ghani previously claimed that he was in the tunnel at the Larkin Stadium, where the brawl reportedly took place, and that none of his teammates were hurt.
However, T-Team’s official fanpage released a picture earlier today showing Irfan warming up on the field during half-time, as he was a substitute during the match, and was not in the tunnel as he had earlier claimed.
Irfan previously claimed that his teammate Evaldo Goncalves, who claimed to have been roughed up by a higher official from JDT, had no nosebleed as the latter claimed.
Irfan claimed that he was standing behind Goncalves throughout the altercation in the tunnel during half-time, when JDT was leading 2-1.
T-Team players refused to play the second half citing security fears, and JDT had today been awarded a default 3-0 win in the match due to T-Team’s refusal to play.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said that it is, however, still investigating the brawl incident. Goncalves had already filed a police report regarding the tunnel brawl.
