He said discussions with the Mayor of London Boris Johnson and Airbus were progressing well.
On March 2012, the low-cost airline company stopped the Kuala Lumpur-London route due to high taxes in Europe.
"We have good discussions with Johnson on the kind of support that we needed. We have discussed with Airbus to accelerate the aircraft that we want because we need a slightly heavier aircraft to carry a bit more fuel and I hope we will get that next year," he said.
He was speaking to reporters after the launch of Epsom College in Malaysia at Bandar Enstek near Seremban today.
The first Epsom College in Asia was officiated by Tuanku Besar Seri Menanti Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Ali Redhauddin Tuanku Muhriz and Johnson.
Also present were Tuanku Ali's brother, Tuanku Zain Al'Abidin Tuanku Muhriz, Deputy Education Minister II P. Kamalanathan and headmaster Martin George.
Meanwhile, Fernandes, who is also chairman of Epsom College in Malaysia, said the college represented a win not just for Epsom and eduation in Malaysia, but a win for families across Asia, who now have access to a British education.
The college has already started operation last September with 150 students aged three to 18 years old, with 60% of them being locals.
Epsom College in Malaysia is a boarding- and day-school on a 20.23-hectare site at Bandar Enstek and follows England's national curriculum. – Bernama
