65-year-old woman falls four floors without any injury

Woman lands on a first-floor awning of a block of flats and did not know what happened or how she ended up in hospital

GEORGE TOWN: A woman suffering from memory loss thought she was going to the toilet but instead fell from the fourth floor of her flat in Jalan Ismail Hashim, Penang, and survived without a single injury.

The 65-year-old woman was fortunate enough to have her fall broken by an awning on the first floor of the block, Berita Harian reported.

Flat residents on hearing a loud crash, rushed out to find the woman lying unconscious on the awning and sent her to the Penang Hospital immediately.

Balik Pulau OCPD Supt Lai Fah Hin confirmed that the woman had not been injured in the fall.

“She suffers from memory loss and did not know what happened,” he explained.

Lai said the woman was trying to go to the toilet and did not know how she fell or how she ended up at the hospital hours later.

He said the woman would be referred to a psychologist for evaluation of her mental state.
