Tabung Haji’s communications division says it has not received any ‘direction’ from the top over reports that CEO is resigning.
PETALING JAYA: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has neither confirmed nor denied that its group CEO Ismee Ismail has stepped down from his post, The Malaysian Reserve reports.
According to the business daily, the pilgrimage fund board’s communications and public affairs division general manager Anis Zuhani Ahmad said there was “no official statement” from TH yet.
“I have not received any direction on this, but if there is any announcement, we will inform accordingly,” she was reported as saying.
Quoting sources, the Edge Financial Daily yesterday reported that Ismee was resigning as TH’s managing director and CEO.
Ismee’s name is being linked to another GLC, which the Edge Financial Daily speculated to be Sime Darby Bhd.
The Malaysian Reserve noted that Sime Darby had yet to name a successor for Abd Wahab Maskan who stepped down as COO earlier this year due to health reasons.
The daily also pointed out that Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) was looking for a new CEO after Christoph Mueller announced his resignation last week.
TH made headlines after it emerged that the fund was buying a plot of land in the Tun Razak Exchange – a project by 1MDB – at 43 times more than the price paid by the state investment arm.
