Pakatan Harapan and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia will meet tomorrow to negotiate on seats allocation for the next general election, DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke said today.
The meeting is slated to be held at Parti Amanah Negara's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur at noon.
"We have discussed (on seats allocation) before, but this is the first time we will go into details," he told Malaysiakini.
Harapan allies and Bersatu will list out the seats they want to contest by tomorrow, Loke added.
According to him, there is no understanding among them to "stay out" of the seats won or contested by PAS in the last general election.
"PAS has nothing to do with us, so we don't have such an understanding, (we will) not keep their seats for them," said the Seremban MP.
PAS contested 73 out of 222 parliamentary seats and 236 out of 505 state seats in the last polls. It won 21 parliamentary seats but seven MPs left the party following the formation of Amanah.
Loke said DAP and PKR would not have big problems during the negotiation as both parties would strive to keep their present seats.
He also denied that there was an understanding to renegotiate the seats if PAS agrees to join the opposition bloc later.
Harapan and Bersatu formed an electoral pact in December 2016 and agreed to a joint technical committee to discuss seat negotiations and manifesto.
"We have formed four committees on seat negotiations, manifesto and joint programmes," Loke said.
PAS is determined not to work with any party that has ties with DAP or Amanah.
PAS will review its ties with PKR and decide whether it should continue to stay with Harapan's Selangor government in the coming muktamar.- Mkini
