ROS refutes PKR Youth's claim, says PN is a registered party

Malaysiakini

The Registrar of Societies (ROS) has confirmed that Perikatan Nasional (PN) is a registered party, as its application was approved on Aug 7.
This came after PKR Youth vice-chief Syed Badli Shah Syed Osman claimed that there was no record of PN's registration in the ROS database as of Sept 14.
ROS labelled Syed Badli's media statement as "false and baseless."
"ROS would like to stress that the PN party has been registered through the issuance of the certificate PPM-019-14-07082020 which was approved and signed by the societies registrar.
"The PN party was approved and in effect on Aug 7, under the political category in line with the Societies Act 1966.
"The ROS would once again like to stress that the statement saying that there's no record of PN's registration is baseless," it said in a statement today.
ROS said the certificate, party logo, and party constitution was signed and presented to PN as soon as the application was approved.
It further explained that the ROS system is updated every two months with the latest information on party approvals.
Hence, the record pertaining PN will only reflect on the website in early October as the application was approved in August, ROS added.
However, it said the record is already available in the eRoses system which can only be accessed by the party secretary.
PN debuted its logo carrying the words "Perikatan Nasional" in white against a dark blue background for the Sabah state election.
Campaigning began last Saturday. PN is allied with BN and PBS, which have fielded 41 and 22 candidates respectively for the Sept 26 polls.
However, they will be clashing in 17 out of the 73 seats.
Their goal is to unseat the incumbent Warisan Plus government comprising Warisan, Pakatan Harapan and Upko. - Mkini
