COVID-19 | There were six new Covid-19 cases recorded today, with three of them local infections.
Of the local transmissions, two were from the Benteng LD cluster in Sabah and they are being treated at the Tawau and Lahad Datu hospitals respectively.
The two new Sabah patients are relatives, with the second case testing positive yesterday.
It is unclear if this is related to the football referee in Tawau who tested positive for the virus.
Results are pending for 334 close contacts in the cluster.
Meanwhile, the third local case was a severe acute respiratory infection detected in Penang.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement that there were also two new recoveries.
Total active cases are now at 154, with six patients currently in intensive care, one more than yesterday. Three of the critical patients are on ventilators.
No new deaths were reported.
