Shafie unfazed by Anifah's legal threat over 'land grab' scandal

Malaysiakini

SABAH POLLS | Caretaker Chief Minister Shafie Apdal is unfazed by a legal threat from Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) president Anifah Aman over land belonging to a state foundation.
"I have all the data (to back up my allegation) on the misappropriation, it is not me who misappropriated (the land).
"We will expose everything about a company owned by a family member of Anifah and how 50,000 (acres) land of Yayasan Sabah (involved in the incident)," he told media after attending Malaysia Day celebration in Kota Kinabalu this morning.
Shafie linked the matter to a company which has a connection with Anifah's family member.
"He can bring (the matter to court), but we have all the evidence. The Registrar of Societies (ROS) and the Companies Commission of Malaysia will be there to tell who owned the company," he said.

On Sept 14, Shafie revealed that a former state leader had awarded more than half a million acres of forest reserve land under a Sabah foundation to "friends and family".
Referring to an alleged land map and a "Sabah Softwood Berhad" (SSB) document purportedly owned by Yayasan Sabah, Shafie had mentioned the name of a former chief minister and the latter's brother who was a former federal minister.
Yesterday, Free Malaysia Today quoted Anifah as denying the allegation and said he would take legal action against Shafie after the Sabah polls.
Anifah, who is standing at Bongawan seat, is leading his party to contest in all 73 state seats against Warisan Plus as well as PN and BN.
