Pollution at Sungai Selangor has caused an unscheduled disruption for the water supply to 1,292 areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat.
“Air Selangor is taking every step available to minimise the impact of the disruption to the affected consumers,” Air Selangor said in a statement today.
Air Selangor said they will prepare water supply via water tank lorries to the affected areas with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals and dialysis centres.
Consumers who require assistance with water supply for emergencies such as handling deaths can contact 15300.
Water supply can also be found at public taps and local service centres, it said, adding that they were working to resolve the pollution issue at Sungai Selangor.
As of 11.30am, pollution was still detected in the river.
Air Selangor said they will inform more details on unscheduled water disruptions through all their social media, the Air Selangor mobile app as well as their website. - Mkini
