SHAH ALAM: After a viral video alleging child neglect and abuse, police will be recording statements from the child’s parents and others who made the video, says Deputy Shah Alam OCPD Supt Ramsay Embol.
In a statement on Sunday (Jan 10), Supt Ramsay said that the nine-year-old girl in the video was found with a bag of clothes near Setia Taipan, Setia Alam.
“She was then brought to the Setia Alam police station.
“No signs of abuse were found on the child, and her parents came to collect her on the same day she was found on Saturday (Jan 9), at around 6.45pm,” he said.
He said the girl’s parents will be making a police report on the video and that police will record statements from all sides.
“The individuals who recorded the video will also be called in for their statements to assist our investigations,” he said.
On Sunday, a video was uploaded online, showing the girl telling the people recording the video about her alleged neglect and abuse by her parents.
It was also alleged that she was trying to find her grandmother's house when she was found. - Star
