Selangor Gerakan has been appointed to the state Perikatan Nasional (PN) leadership, according to Selangor PN chief Azmin Ali.
He said the state liaison meeting yesterday unanimously agreed to appoint Selangor Gerakan chief Ang Chin Tat as the state PN vice-chief, alongside Selangor PAS commissioner Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Selangor Bersatu chief Abdul Rashid Asari.
"Gerakan's entry into PN is very significant to strengthen the coalition and affirms its policy of inclusivity and celebration of diversity.
"I am confident this policy will strengthen PN's efforts to attract the people's support, particularly among millennials.
"Selangor PN aspires to embrace the new paradigm in the people's struggle and also inject new dynamics into politics that are based on values," Azmin said in a statement today.
The Gombak MP and Bukit Antarabangsa state assemblyperson said Selangor celebrates the differences in language, race and religion.
He said Selangor PN would work to strengthen their cooperation for the 15th general election in order to form a strong and stable government.
The incorporation of Selangor Gerakan into the state PN leadership came after the former BN party formally joined the coalition earlier this month.
Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin had on Feb 11 accepted Gerakan's application to join PN. - Mkini
