KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today launched TV Pendidikan's special channel, DidikTV KPM.
He said the channel is aimed at easing issues and provide boost to the home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) classes, benefitting some five million school students nationwide.
He said the Covid-19 pandemic has presented a set of challenges which has prompted the government to enforce the Movement Control Order (MCO) since March last year.
Due to this, the Education Ministry (KPM) needed to take action to close down schools to protect the students and teachers, he said.
"Hence, it has taken various initiatives including a launching DidikTV KPM to as a dedicated education channel from 7am to midnight daily.
"The channel would air specially-designed programmes based on the Education Ministry's curriculum and co-curriculum, as well as news on education, edutainment programmes, student-generated content and the relevant international programmes," he said during the launch aired live on TV3, NTV7 and Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin's Facebook page.
He said it would help students who did not have full access to online learning.
DidikTV KPM is available on channel 107 on MYTV, 147 on Astro and ntv7 on TV Unifi, from 7am to midnight daily.
