KOTA KINABALU: Sabah's daily Covid-19 statistics is back to three-digit figure today after more cases were detected in three coronavirus clusters.

Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said today there are 132 cases, which is an increase of 35 from yesterday's double-digit figure.

39 new cases were from the existing Jalan Tiga KKIP cluster.

"Another two new clusters are Simpang Tiga and Jalan Apas Empat," he said in a press statement.

The index case of the Simpang Tiga cluster is a microcredit organisation worker in Matunggong.

Masidi said the patient who lives in Kota Belud tested positive at the Kota Belud district hospital on Feb 6.

The authorities traced another 24 positive cases linked to the index case.

As for the Jalan Apas Empat cluster in Kalabakan and Tawau, the index case is a seafood company worker who tested positive during a SOCSO screening on Feb 2.

Close contact tracing found another 21 positive cases in the cluster.

Masidi, who is also state Local Government and Housing Minister, said the state government has agreed with the implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) which will take effect on Feb 19 until March 4.

"The change of the order is made based on the downward trend of Covid-19 cases in Sabah for the past two weeks." - NST
