PETALING JAYA: A simple ceremony will mark MCA’s 72nd anniversary this Saturday (Feb 27) in a live broadcast.
MCA vice-president Datuk Lim Ban Hong said party president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong will host a “simple and solemn” flag-raising ceremony on the day to mark the occasion.
In a statement on Tuesday (Feb 23), Lim also said the president is expected to deliver a speech during the ceremony.
“In adherence to the standard operating procedures as issued by the National Security Council during the Covid-19 pandemic, this ceremony will be broadcast live at 12.15pm the same day via MCA’s official Facebook page, ” he said.
Lim, who is also the organising committee chairman of the “Commemoration of Tun Sir Tan Cheng Lock” events, said a special commemorative website in honour of the MCA founder will be launched that day.
The website will be one activity in a series of events to commemorate Tun Sir Tan Cheng Lock.
