Woman with drugs in underwear nabbed near Tumpat

KOTA BHARU: A woman attempted to hide drugs, including syabu and erimin 5 pills in her undergarments, to avoid being caught by police but it did not work.

General Operations Force Battalion 9 commander Nor Azizan Yusof said the 25-year-old woman and a male cousin, aged 26, were in a Honda Jazz that was stopped by an intelligence team on patrol near Tumpat.

He said the vehicle was stopped after they were observed to be behaving in a suspicious manner at an area known for drug trafficking around Wakaf Bharu and Pengkalan Kubor.

“While checking the male suspect, police found RM898 in cash. An inspection of the car did not reveal any illicit items.

“A check on the female suspect found several transparent plastic packs containing crystals suspected to be syabu with an estimated weight of 6gm and foils containing 25 pills suspected to be erimin 5 that were hidden in the woman’s undergarments,” he said in a statement today.

Nor Azizan said the male suspect tested positive for methamphetamine while the female suspect was found to be positive for amphetamine, adding that the male suspect had been arrested for a drug-related offence in 2016. - FMT
