Flood mitigation project: Police receive report on Selangor MB alleged involvement

The police confirmed receiving a report regarding the alleged involvement of Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, with a company which allegedly received a project worth RM700 million through direct negotiation from the state government.

Serdang district police chief AA Anbalagan said the police report was lodged at the Kinrara police station at 2pm today.

“Yes, I can confirm that we have received a police report regarding the matter today,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

The police report was lodged by the Selangor Perikatan Nasional Information chief Mohd Shukor Mustaffa.

Yesterday, a news portal reported that Amirudin and state Infrastructure and Agriculture exco Izham Hashim were alleged to have interests in the company, Landasan Lumayan Berjaya Sdn Bhd (LLSB), which was awarded the river cleaning and development project of Sungai Klang, along 56km from Mid Valley City in Kuala Lumpur to Port Klang, which is said to cost RM700 million.

Meanwhile, LLSB managing director, Syaiful Azmen Nordin, in his statement, said that the company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Selangor Menteri Besar (Incorporation) (MBI), and has been appointed by the state government to plan and manage the implementation of the project.

“The position of Amirudin and Izham is to represent the interests of the state government so that this project can be implemented in a transparent, orderly manner and meet the goals of the state government,” he said.
