PETALING JAYA: Human resources minister V Sivakumar has urged the media against speculating about the arrest of his aide by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) earlier today.
In a statement, Sivakumar said he would not comment on the case as the MACC was probing the matter.
“The human resources ministry and I will fully cooperate with the authorities.
“Therefore, I hope the media does not make any assumptions or speculations that can affect anyone until the investigations are completed,” he said.
Earlier, a source told FMT that an aide to Sivakumar, said to be one of the minister’s senior officers, was detained, along with a foreign worker recruitment agent, by the MACC.
MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki was reported to have confirmed the arrests.
It is believed that their arrests are linked to an investigation into the recruitment of foreign workers. - FMT
