KOTA KINABALU: The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has channelled a cash donation of RM30,000 to build the Sekolah Agama Rakyat Kampung Mesilau in Ranau, Sabah today (Apr 6).
IRB, in a statement, said that the cash donation, which was presented by its chief executive officer Datuk Dr Mohd Nizom Sairi, was a collection made by the agency, in collaboration with the Badan Kebajikan Islam Kota Kinabalu (BAKTI).
Mohd Nizom said the IRB's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme was a continuation of a similar programme carried out by the team at the head office on Feb 4.
IRB also presented a donation of RM200 each to ease the burden of orphans, poor and needy children from villages around Kota Kinabalu, in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebrations.
"A programme like this is a clear indication of IRB's strong support for human capital development, including the rural communities.
"It is also our strategic approach in getting closer to the community in accordance with the theme of 'Leading Change, Driving Excellence'," read the statement. – Bernama
