Kedah Pakatan Harapan will be hosting a rally in Alor Setar, Kedah tomorrow night, ahead of Putrajaya’s national-level Aidilfitri open house in the same city the following day.
According to promotional material for the event, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, his deputy Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and three other cabinet ministers - Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Salahuddin Ayub, and Nga Kor Ming - will be in attendance.
Famous singers Siti Nurhaliza and Amy Search are slated to perform during the event, which primarily features speeches by government figures.
Suka Menanti assemblyperson Zamri Yusuf, who is the chief organiser, said 10,000 people are expected at the event in Dataran Stargate.
“The objective of this gathering is for us to instil in the community the Madani concept, which is sustainability, prosperity, innovation, respect, trust, and compassion," said Zamri, according to Bernama.
He said the event will provide an opportunity for attendees to interact with government leaders before and after their speeches.
Meanwhile, Kedah Pakatan Harapan chief Mahfuz Omar told Malaysiakini the event is for government leaders to explain policies to the grassroots and receive feedback.
He said the event is totally funded by Kedah Pakatan Harapan.
On the lucky draw programme during the event - which involves five motorbikes - Mahfuz said the prizes were contributed by supporters.
The rally will be held a day before Alor Setar hosts its first national-level Aidilfitri open house.
Putrajaya will be holding Aidilfitri open house events in Kelantan, Terengganu, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, and Selangor in the coming weeks as well. - Mkini
