PAS’ preliminary position for the upcoming Kelantan election is that the party will defend all seats it won in 2018, said state deputy party chief Mohd Amar Abdullah.
Eight seats won by BN during the 2018 election will be distributed to Bersatu, he added.
According to Utusan Malaysia, this position was the starting point in discussions between his party and Bersatu.
“However, there will be further discussions after this. We don’t know what will happen... We have to wait,” he added.
Amar (above) was speaking to reporters today after attending an Aidilfitri open house hosted by Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob in Kampung Alor Pasir, Wakaf Bharu.
He said Kelantan PAS had shortlisted its candidates but the final decision lies with Ahmad.
During the 2018 election, PAS won 37 Kelantan legislative assembly seats while BN won eight.
However, BN currently only has seven seats because Air Lanas assemblyperson Mustapa Mohamed defected to Bersatu. - Mkini
