PETALING JAYA: A property agent has bemoaned the lack of progress in the investigation into his wife’s sexual harassment allegation against a senior Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) officer.

The man, whose identity is being withheld to protect the victim, also claimed that other sexual offences had been committed against his wife.

He said his wife had allegedly been harassed since the middle of last year and now suffered from depression.

He also claimed that the senior officer was a “serial womaniser” in his late 40s.

“For months, he would send overtly sexual messages and pictures to her as well as demand her pictures,” he said.

“He had also communicated his desire for a sexual relationship in exchange for her promotion and career growth.

“On the pretext of work, he had called her over to his office on several occasions and made use of the opportunity to hug and touch her inappropriately.

“Despite her refusal, as she is a married woman and mother of several children, he continued to harass her.”

He said his wife had not told anyone, including himself, until much later due to fear of reprisal from the officer. She was also worried about the reaction from her family and colleagues.

The husband lodged two police reports – one last November and another in January.

He said he had been informed that the investigation paper had been submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) to decide on the next course of action.

Dang Wangi police confirmed with FMT the investigation paper had been submitted to the AGC.

The man, however, is disappointed that the case is being investigated for enticement instead of molestation, outraging the modesty of a person, and indecency.

He said the second police report was being investigated by Bukit Aman.

“According to the police investigators, the suspect was called up and his statement was taken. The police also seized the mobile phones belonging to my wife and the officer, but there has been no update on the investigation,” he said.
