IPOH: Police have nabbed a motorist believed to have scattered nails on the road out of a moving vehicle, as shown in a video clip that has been widely shared.
Batu Gajah police chief Roy Suhaimi Sarif said the 45-year-old suspect was arrested around Changkat Larang in Lahat at about 3am.
“The suspect has a drug-related criminal record and a urine test found him positive for methamphetamine. He has been remanded for four days to assist in investigations for committing mischief. However, his motive is still being investigated,” he said in a statement.
The incident was believed to have occurred at the traffic lights near Batu Gajah. Police also received a report from a road user who claimed that his car tyre was punctured after passing through the same road.
A 24-second video recorded by the driver of another vehicle showed the motorist apparently scattering nails from the window of his car at the junction. - FMT
