Open house to be held in all states, says Anwar

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said there is no issue with holding Hari Raya open house in PAS-controlled states.

This is because there will be open house in all states, he added.

“There are a lot of states, all will have open house, including Selangor,” Anwar said as reported by Free Malaysia Today.

PAS Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari had said earlier that Anwar’s move to hold open house at PAS-led states was because of the upcoming state polls.

It was announced yesterday that the prime minister’s Aidilfitri open house will be moved out of the Klang Valley for the first time in history.

The Prime Minister’s Department announced yesterday that the events will be held in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu – all PAS-controlled states.

Kedah will host the national-level event on April 29 in Alor Setar, followed by one in Kota Bharu on May 12 and the third one in Kuala Terengganu on May 13.

They also said similar events will be held in Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan. However, dates have not been announced.

Previous prime ministers Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Najib Abdul Razak, Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had held the national-level Aidilfitri open house in Seri Perdana, Putrajaya.

Prior to this, the Abdullah and Mahathir administrations held such events at the Putra World Trade Center. - Mkini
