Peja jabs at Ramasamy for not knowing Malay voters

 

Ahmad Faizal Azumu took a swipe at P Ramasamy, saying that people who do not even engage with Malay supporters should not be commenting on their support.

PETALING JAYA: Bersatu deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu has dismissed claims by DAP’s P Ramasamy of waning Malay support for Perikatan Nasional and said the latter does not understand the sentiments of those voters.

Faizal, who is known as Peja, said politicians such as Ramasamy were in no position to comment on Malay support for Bersatu or PN.

“How do they understand Malay voters’ sentiments when they don’t even talk to or befriend Malay voters? We should not be discussing the views of people like that,” he told Berita Harian.

Ramasamy, who is deputy chairman of Penang DAP, had said in a Facebook post earlier today that PN’s momentum was waning as elections to six state assemblies draw closer.

The coalition, comprising mainly Bersatu and PAS, had made large gains at the parliamentary general election in November. Ramasamy described it as a temporary phenomenon resulting from certain socio-political conditions.

Faizal said that PN would continue its efforts to win voters in Ramasamy’s state so that it could form a state government that represented all people. - FMT
