KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan (PH) has dismissed the claim that PKR and DAP will be "sacrificing" safe seats in Selangor in favour of Barisan Nasional (BN).
PH communications director Fahmi Fadzil said that the seat negotiation discussions for the upcoming state elections by the special committee under the unity government secretariat has not ended, as of today.
"No announcement so far, I would say it is speculative at best.
"As long as nothing has been announced, things are still under discussion and the discussions have not ended.
"Whether any party is giving way, it is speculative at best," he said in a press conference after a media appeciation event held here today.
He was responding to an article by Free Malaysia Today quoting sources that DAP and PKR would be making way in Selangor for the sake of the unity government.
The article mentioned that Selangor BN treasurer Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz was one of several candidates that would likely to be fielded in safe seats sacrificed by DAP and PKR.
The article also mentioned that PH was likely to handover five safe seats to BN in its bid to keep unity government intact. - NST
