PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim joined the Qiyamullail Perdana programme early today at the Putra Mosque, here.
Also present were Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali and Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) director-general Datuk Hakimah Mohd Yusoff.
The congregational qiyamullail began at 4.40am with the Tahajjud prayer, followed by the "sunat taubat" and the Hajat prayer, all led by a guest imam, Hanif Azmir Hassim.
This was followed by "sahur" (pre-dawn meal).
Later, Anwar joined the congregational Subuh prayer led by guest imam Ahmad Fairuz Nazaruddin, followed by a "tausiyah" delivered by Mohd Gunawan Che Ab Aziz, director of the Policy and Strategic Division of the National Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Centre.
The Qiyamullail Perdana programme, which was attended by about 2,000 congregants, was organised by Jakim. — BERNAMA
