Perikatan Nasional (PN) has secured a five-minute slot on TV3 tonight for its “takbir raya” ceremony.
According to the TV channel’s programme schedule, there will be three “takbir raya” - the reciting of the “takbir” to mark Aidilfitri - at 9.20pm, 10.25pm, and 11.25pm.
Bersatu supreme council head Saifuddin Abdullah said that PN’s slot will take place at 10.20pm tonight.
This is likely the first time that opposition parties will have their “takbir raya” broadcast on a national television station.
According to a source, PN’s slot was paid for.
The source revealed that the Home Ministry will have the 9.20pm slot and that Umno has a slot as well.
TV3, which is operated by Media Prima Bhd, is privately owned by Media Mulia Sdn Bhd.
Media Prima, when contacted, refused to comment on the matter. - Mkini
