SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan Umno has held an early discussion with its Pakatan Harapan (PH) counterpart on seat distribution in the upcoming state elections.
State chief Jalaluddin Alias said it was to prevent clashes between Umno and PH to ensure that the alliance would be able to secure all 36 state constituencies.
“Yesterday, I met with menteri besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun for the first time… we are trying to come to an agreement so that Umno and BN candidates do not clash with the seats being contested by PH in the state elections.
“In principle, this is what we should focus on, InsyaAllah we will make a decision soon,” he told a press conference after the state Umno meeting here today.
When asked about Umno’s candidate for the menteri besar’s post, Jalaluddin said the matter would be decided by the top leadership in the unity government. - FMT
