Probe Anwar’s claim on former Umno ministers, says Dr M

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has called on the police and MACC to probe Anwar Ibrahim’s claims about former ministers being involved in corrupt practices.

PETALING JAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad has urged the authorities to investigate Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s claim linking former ministers from Umno to numerous irregularities.

In a Facebook post, the former prime minister called on the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to probe Anwar’s claims.

“If he wants to disclose this, he should disclose everything, including (investigation papers) on current ministers,” said Mahathir.

“Even though I didn’t see them, I know there were investigation papers opened on Anwar himself.”
