Selangor Perikatan Nasional chief Azmin Ali visited former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday to discuss current affairs.
Azmin, who was accompanied by his wife Shamsidar Taharin, said the visit was in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha.
According to the former Selangor menteri besar, Mahathir talked about his working visits to the UK, Turkiye and Bosnia Herzegovina during their meeting.
"Tun (Mahathir) also shared his views on the domestic political situation.
"Apart from the economy and cost of living, he also urged Malays to unite against our enemies who have a hidden agenda," Azmin said on Instagram.
The former Gombak MP pointed out that Mahathir and his wife Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali will soon turn 98 and 97. Azmin wished them both good health.
Azmin was once Mahathir's economic affairs minister between 2018 and 2020.
However, in February 2020, Azmin became a crucial figure in the Sheraton Move, which compelled Mahathir to resign as prime minister, paving the way for Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin to take over.
Mahathir heads the Malay Proclamation movement, which has garnered support from Muhyiddin and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
The nonagenarian has also stated he is backing PN for the upcoming six state elections. - Mkini
