PETALING JAYA: Sanusi Nor said he was prepared to give the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) his full cooperation in its probe into alleged corruption and illegal mining of rare earths in the state.
Harian Metro reported the Kedah caretaker menteri besar as saying he also welcomed probes by other agencies.
“I have said this many times since becoming menteri besar … my office and I are open to any investigation by MACC or any agency.
“You can investigate (me) 25 hours a day, eight days a week.
“You can contact me through WhatsApp if I am unreachable through phone calls,” he was quoted as saying.
Sanusi was responding to MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki, who had earlier said the PAS leader would be summoned to give his statement. A date has yet to be set.
Azam also revealed that 12 witnesses have had their statements taken.
Yesterday, MACC remanded the CEO of a state’s Menteri Besar Incorporated for three days over alleged corruption and abuse of power in relation to a bribe of more than RM13 million. - FMT
