PAS challenged to lodge reports on Maritime Gateway, stadium projects

Selangor PKR Youth has challenged PAS to lodge MACC reports regarding the Selangor government's handling of the new Selangor Maritime Gateway (SMG) and Shah Alam Stadium redevelopment project.

This followed complaints by Selangor PAS elections director Rosli Jusoh that the SMG project did not undergo an open tender process while the stadium redevelopment project involved a land swap deal.

In a statement, Selangor PKR Youth deputy information chief Mohd Fauzi Fadzil said the integrity of the SMG project should not be questioned because it was monitored by a special committee - comprising former Works Department director Roslan Abdul Aziz.

As for the stadium redevelopment project, Fauzi argued that it had already received permission from the Selangor Economic Action Council and the state executive council.

"If there are violations of any laws, Rosli is welcomed to lodge a report with the MACC," said Fauzi (above).

The SMG is a project to restore, deepen and develop the banks of the Klang River.

The contractor is a joint venture between state-owned Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd (LLSB) and Berjaya Hartanah Bhd, a company linked to conglomerate Berjaya Group.

As for the stadium redevelopment project, no contractor has been chosen yet. The state government had announced a land swap deal to finance the project.

Fauzi was responding to Rosli's comments in the latter's interview with Harakah Daily, where he accused the state administration of lacking integrity, citing the two projects. - Mkini
