PETALING JAYA: The causes of the Beechcraft Premier 1 plane crash at Bandar Elmina in Shah Alam on Aug 17 will only be revealed in the final full report, said the transport ministry in its preliminary report released today.

The initial report, released on the ministry’s website, noted that medical causes could be ruled out as both pilots were well-rested before the flight and had no known medical conditions that could pose significant hazards, based on available history and physical examinations.

Transport minister Loke Siew Fook had also previously said that analysis of the cockpit voice recording would help identify the reasons behind the crash, with a full report only expected to be completed in a year.

The ministry said initial transcription of the cockpit voice recorder’s audio files has been completed and analysis is in progress, with transcripts to only be included in the final report, if necessary.

The business jet crashed off the Guthrie Corridor Expressway in Bandar Elmina, killing 10, including Pahang executive councillor and Pelangai assemblyman Johari Harun and two road users.

The aircraft was flying from Langkawi to the Subang airport and had been cleared to land at 2.48pm, but crashed two minutes later.
