Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has dismissed a claim that Pakatan Harapan demanded 30 percent of positions in his state government.
According to him, there were no new appointments in all state government agencies, including local councils.
“Who said about the 30 percent? Until now, there have not been new appointments even in village development and security committees (JKKK). So where did the 30 percent (quota) for DAP come from?
“This is a wild accusation. They (critics) create perceptions and slander, and people don’t think twice before falling for such claims.
“Please do not fall for such allegations,” Wan Rosdy told reporters when met at a function in Bentong today.
He was responding to a claim by Haslihelmy DM Zulhasli, who is the independent candidate for the Oct 7 Pelangai by-election, that negotiations are ongoing between state BN and Harapan regarding the alleged quota.
The by-election will witness a three-way clash between BN candidate Amizar Abu Adam, Kasim Samat of Perikatan Nasional, and Haslihelmy.
Elaborating, Wan Rosdy urged voters to not trust Haslihelmy as the latter “had a bad track record”.
“By that I mean he has done some bad things and gotten the attention of the authorities who have acted against him.
“So it’s better to not trust a person like this. Like this 30 percent quota claim is fabricated to create dissatisfaction among the people.”
Wan Rosdy did not elaborate. - Mkini
