MUAR: A man and a month-old baby were killed in a three-vehicle crash on the North-South Highway near Pagoh today.
The man, aged 20, died instantly when he was run over by a car after he crashed on the road, police said.
The baby boy was in the car which was involved in the pileup with another motorcycle.
Muar police chief Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the accident took place at 3.10am.
He said a grey Honda motorcycle skidded and crashed on the road causing another motorcycle coming from behind to lose control and land on the right side of the highway.
“A car travelling in the same direction could not avoid the first motorcyclist, who was lying on the road, and ran into him. The car also veered off and crashed on the left side of the road,” Raiz said in a statement.
The first motorcyclist, in his 20s, was killed instantly, while the baby boy died while receiving treatment in hospital. Five others were also receiving treatment.
He urged witnesses to contact the nearest police station to help in investigations.
Pagoh fire and rescue department said two men, a woman, a boy and a girl in the car were all injured, as was the other motorcyclist. - FMT
