PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has sent his best wishes to former squash hero Kenneth Low, after learning that the former sportsman is suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS).
Anwar said his political secretary Ahmad Farhan Fauzi paid a visit to Low and also provided some aid on his behalf.
“I wish him a speedy recovery,” Anwar said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Earlier this month, FMT reported that Low, 47, vowed to battle on after being diagnosed with MS, an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.
He has been living with stroke-induced impairment, diminished motor skills, cognitive disability, and short-term memory dysfunction.
Low has been working as a cleaner for the past two years, at a monthly salary of RM1,500.
After FMT reported about his plight in July, more than RM170,000 in public donations flooded in.
The former national squash champion and coach said he was grateful that the report about his condition also helped raise awareness of MS. - FMT
