MyHSR Corp chairman’s WhatsApp account hacked

KUANTAN: MyHSR Corporation Sdn Bhd (MyHSR Corp) chairman Fauzi Abdul Rahman said his WhatsApp account was hacked last week.

He said his WhatsApp account could not be used after he received a link inviting him to join a religious ceremony involving the Prime Minister’s Department.

Subsequently, Fauzi said his family members and acquaintances received WhatsApp messages purportedly from him, asking to borrow money from them.

These messages included the account number of an unknown person.

“I received calls from them asking whether I really wanted to borrow the money or not. I told them not to send (the money) as my WhatsApp account had been hacked,” he told reporters here today, adding that he had lodged a police report on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in a statement, MyHSR Corp called on the public to disregard any messages from Fauzi as they were fake.

It also advised those who were victims of such scams to immediately lodge a police report. - FMT
