EAGLE EYED Madani backers have mocked former FELDA general manager Datuk Faizoull Ahmad with the Salvatore Ferragamo Double Gancini belt worn by him to the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court yesterday (Sept 30) to face a deception charge.
The 66-year-old claimed trial after the charge was read before sessions court judge Suzana Hussin.
He is accused of dishonestly concealing from the FELDA board that a “power of attorney” dated June 3, 2014 had been accorded to Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd to transfer ownership of 16 land parcels involved in the proposed development of FELDA lots in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur.
Faizoull allegedly induced the FELDA board to agree to the power of attorney after which the 16 parcels were transferred to Synergy Promenade and Synergy Promenade KLVC Sdn Bhd.
He allegedly committed the offence at Menara Felda on Sept 2, 2014. The charge was framed under Section 420 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum 10 years’ imprisonment, whipping and a fine upon conviction.
“The price of his belt is expensive ohh,” teased cheeky netizen جيبريل Jibreel (@ji_breeel) in a comment to a post by Threader VC (@vncp_01). “Salvatore Ferragamo Double Gancini is priced around RM2K-RM3K. Such lavish styling but looks poor with a belly like that. Hmmmm …”

“This is the face of the traitor! FELDA should be a hope for settlers but it ended up being looted by these big crooks,” fumed the poster while commenters took a pot shot at UMNO by ridiculing that “later there will be foolish Malays collecting donations to pay the bail”.
“Eh … a Malay? I thought a DAP Chinese ” jibed another.

Vindicating DAP
For the record, Faizoull was previously sentenced to two years imprisonment in June 2018 on charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving RM47.6 mil of the land agency’s funds.
However, the conviction was subsequently set aside and he was acquitted by the High Court in 2022 with the decision upheld by the Court of Appeal.
He is probably the third high-profile figure to be charged in connection with the broader FELDA scandals or land controversies.
Former FELDA chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad was previously charged and convicted in relation to corruption charges linked to FELDA Investment Corp’s (FIC) hotel purchases.
On Feb 9, the former Negeri Sembilan menteri besar (22 years) and veteran UMNO politician was sent to Sungai Buloh Prison to begin serving a six-year jail sentence after the Federal Court reinstated his corruption conviction.
Just a day prior to Faizoull being charged for concealing the power of attorney over the Jalan Semarak land transfer, former FIC CEO Zaid Abdul Jalil was also charged in the Sessions Court for deceiving the board regarding the same Jalan Semarak development project.
Elsewhere, the somehow indirect UMNO shaming by virtue of the offence having been committed during the Barisan Nasional (BN) rule – just like the purported Tabung Haji scandal – was obvious.
“This is Datuk Faizoull Ahmad, the former FELDA director-general who was charged in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court. He is a Malay. Not Chinese, not Indian,” screamed the PKR Youth in a post on Threads.
“He’s accused of deceiving the FELDA board of directors regarding the transfer of ownership of 16 FELDA land plots.”
This was echoed by fellow Threader Cempaka Helena (@_cempakahelena9):
This is him … Datuk Faizoull Ahmad, former FELDA director-general who is accused of deceiving the FELDA Board regarding the transfer of ownership of 16 FELDA land plots.
A Malay. Not Chinese, not Indian. Not DAP.
Alas, DAP emerges the clear winner as it gets vindicated.
“As if they want to help the Malays, that the Malays are threatened, that the Malays take care of the Malays, the leaders at the top are usually Malays but who betrays their own race at the end of the day? Enough of blaming other races,” chastised one Ahmad.Z (@ahmadzainal1311).
