KUALA LUMPUR: The police store at Laman Rimbunan Kepong caught fire at about 6.20pm today.
It is learnt that the building was used to store seized items.
Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Azizan Ismail said they received a distress call at 6.20pm.
He said 35 firemen from Jinjang, Sentul, Sri Hartamas and Hang Tuah fire stations were sent to the scene with the first team arriving five minutes after the call.
Azizan said personnel had difficulty dousing off fire as the water pressure was low at the scene, forcing the team to seek help from Syabas.
At 8pm, the firemen are still working to control the blaze. - NST
