PUTRAJAYA - US President Barack Obama said not meeting Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim does not mean that he lacks concern over civil liberties in Malaysia.
He pointed out that there have been occasions when he did not meet with people and opposition leaders of countries prior to this.
"The fact that I have not met with Anwar does not mean that I am not concerned about him.
"There are a lot of people that I don't meet with, opposition leaders that I don't meet with," Obama said at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak in Seri Perdana here today.
