'Kedah, Terengganu, Perak – BN’s undemocratic ways on display'

Today’s resolution to the Kedah crisis is yet another example of BN’s disregard for democracy, Amanah said.
Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub pointed out that BN turned its back on the state legislative assembly just like in the Terengganu and Perak menteri besar crises.
Salahuddin said the democratic way to resolve the issue was to hold a vote of no confidence in the House.
“The process was undemocratic, and I believe it was the same in Terengganu and Perak.
“They have done this multiple times, (toppling a menteri besar) through methods outside the House and it is undemocratic.
“Pakatan Harapan believes this could have been resolved through a no-confidence vote in the House – it is more just and transparent so people can see why a transition happened,” he told reporters at the Tabung Haji building in Kuala Lumpur today.
Successful coup
Mukhriz Mahathir today resigned as Kedah MB following loss of support, after a coup was launched against him by Kedah Umno.
Kedah Umno deputy chief Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, who led the coup, will be sworn in as the new MB tomorrow.
Mukhriz said he believes he was ousted because he spoke up on 1MDB, and that he will not be silenced.
He also said Umno is at its weakest under president Najib Abdul Razak, and that Umno members cannot hold their heads up high due to Najib’s “scandals”.
Salahuddin said Amanah’s doors were always open to Mukhriz, who has been speculated to also face expulsion from Umno for his anti-Najib remarks today.
“We will see the developments. He has his own pride. Our doors are always open if he wants to meet and discuss,” he said.
Salahuddin was at the Tabung Haji office to meet with the pilgrimage fund’s chairperson Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim on fears that the fund cannot pay dividends to its depositors this year.
Tabung Haji is scheduled to make an announcement on this tomorrow. -Mkini
