Sacked Umno man says people should wait and see how "thieves" will govern Kedah.
KUALA LUMPUR: Sacked Batu Kawan Umno vice-chief Khairuddin Abu Hassan has wished Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, who is set to be appointed as Kedah’s new Menteri Besar, “good luck”.
“I wish this ‘kumpulan bangang’ (group of idiots) the best of luck in administering the state,” he said, when asked to comment on Mukhriz Mahathir’s resignation as Kedah’s MB today.
“I do hope that they will govern the state with sincerity and honesty if they want to win the people’s votes in the 14th General Election,” he added.
Mukhriz had this morning announced that he was stepping down as Kedah MB, since he no longer commanded the support of the majority of assemblymen in the state.
The Jerlun lawmaker also cited his criticisms of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) as among the factors he was pressured to step down.
Khairuddin went on to state that the people should “wait and see how these ‘penyangak’ (thieves) will govern Kedah in the short and long term”.
He then applauded Mukhriz’s decision to step down, calling him a leader with a big heart.
“Although he quit, he said that he will still support the new state administration, Umno, Barisan Nasional and help them out.”
