So many questions unanswered and AG wants case closed?

YOURSAY | ‘The Swiss can do as they like but that will be it. Malaysia is a different country.’
Negarawan: The only way for completing the investigation on the 1MDB scandal and bringing all the perpetrators to justice is through the involvement of the Swiss, US, UK and other overseas investigators.
The authorities of critical institutions in Malaysia have succumbed to the "cash is king" mentality, and are totally subservient to Najib.
A clear and unequivocal message must be sent by the international community to the Malaysian attorney-general and Najib administration that impeding the 1MDB investigation is totally unacceptable and unethical.
At the end of the day, it is the people of Malaysia who are taking the brunt of the 1MDB scandal, which has resulted in a drastic increase in the cost of living, the plunge in the ringgit, and the embarrassment of having a corrupt and rogue government.
Odin Tajué: Did AG Mohamed Apandi Ali try to stop the Swiss probe of 1MDB? Yes, he did, based on his attempt to stop any probes of 1MDB.
Now to the mysterious RM2.6 billion. No, it was neither a gift nor a donation. Circumstantial evidence suggests that it was part of 1MDB and SRC International money.
No, the money was not meant to fight IS. IS wasn't in existence when the money was transferred to that man's personal–but–not–personal bank accounts.
No, the money was not meant to fight the Muslim Brotherhood. The PAS' ideology is consistent with the aims of the movement, but the party is courted by that man and his own party.
No, the money was not meant for the benefit of ‘the Malaysian province of Sarawak'. I'm quite willing to bet my last dollar that the Saudis did not and do not even know of Sarawak.
Paul Warren: Apandi's agreement to cooperate with the Swiss may just be pyrrhic. Publicly he agrees but privately he probably assumes that his peers in other countries are cut of the same cloth as him.
How can they be any different? After all, he has had his mental framework predispositions from the time he was born and it has done him good.
Yes, how different can his peers be? Right, Apandi?
Sali Tambap: The Swiss can do as they like but that will be it. Malaysia is a different country. It is not like Switzerland where corrupt officials like those in Fifa could be prosecuted.
In Malaysia, the PM has absolute power who has absolute loyalty from his party members. They can even accept the corruption he committed.
The Swiss are extremely naive if they think they can bring the culprits here to the book.
Res Ipsa: This looks like the most obvious reason why the Swiss AG took to the media since request for assistance from Malaysia drew a blank.
Apandi should remember that the Swiss are investigating crimes such as money-laundering and corruption committed in their country. In this process, if any foreign high-ranking foreign officials are caught in their dragnet, then they have to face the music under Swiss laws.
Apandi can only use his constitutional powers to clear Najib in Malaysia. Since the offences are now being investigated under Swiss laws, he is powerless and has to render the relevant assistance requested. Any refusal will further erode his credibility.
Anticonmen: Thank you very much, former US ambassador to Malaysia John Malott for your yeoman service to the nation.
Gerard Lourdesamy: The AG has proven to have zero integrity and credibility in this case.
1. Are political donations exempt from declaration to and clearance by Bank Negara and the Inland Revenue Board?
2. Why was the donation not paid directly into Umno-BN's accounts?
3. Why must the donation be in several payment tranches?
4. Why didn't the late King Abdullah make payment direct to the Malaysian government?
5. Why was the donation made by way of transfers from several different sources and through several different countries?
6. Why make such a big donation when the sum spent was only US$61 million?
7. If it was a donation, why must the unused portion be returned to the donor?
8. Was the RM61 million spent on GE13 in violation of the Elections Offences Act 1954?
9. Are Najib and Rosmah living beyond their means?
Magic Dragon: In our blessed land, it is almost impossible to find a decent and daring individual, who acts with his conscience.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) special operations division director Bahri Mohd Zin, you have my vote.
It is like trying to find a pin in the hay stack. If those in the Malay community have no balls to take the initiative to challenge this corrupt regime, the least they can do is to give this brave soul the moral support.
Time is no longer a luxury to Malaysians who is squatting in a sinking ship.
Ib: The ugliness of the party of thieves and liars can no longer be hidden. The ordinary kampung folks can see that this party has no morals and has turned into a big serpent.
And this culture of personal attacks using the media started way back. I remember they went for Penang CM Lim Guan Eng's son, saying that he was transferred out of his school because he molested a girl, but the girl concerned was not even in Malaysia.
Anonymous Hotplate: A good God-fearing and sincere civil officer can never survive in Bolehland ruled by devouring serpents.
Bahri, if it’s true that Allah is watching, I am sure truth will prevail and you will survive the tortures of this evil ruling regime.
YHJ: Bahri is clearly a God-fearing man. It’s a pity so few honourable men and women in the civil service.-Mkini
