KUALA LUMPUR: Water supply has been fully restored in 1,156 or about 90% of the 1,292 locations affected by unscheduled water cuts in the Klang Valley as of 6.30am today.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said water supply to the remaining 136 locations are still in the recovery process.
Its corporate communications head, Elina Baseri, said Petaling had recorded 95.72% restoration, Gombak 94.89%, Kuala Lumpur 85.02% and Klang/Shah Alam (59.32%) while Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor had achieved 100% restoration of supply.
In a statement, she advised consumers to continue not to store or use water excessively to ensure the recovery can proceed smoothly.
Water supply in the Klang Valley had been disrupted since Thursday after the Sungai Selangor Phases 1, 2 and 3 and Rantau Panjang water treatment plants were shut down because of pollution of their raw water source. - FMT
