2.  And here is Nottingham University:

YES (Young Entrepreneur Scheme) is an innovative global competition, developed 25 years ago, to raise awareness among postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers on how to commercialise ideas from science and engineering effectively.

The YES 2020 (delayed due to Covid19) Competition is organised in partnership with Association of Science Technology and Innovation of Malaysia (ASTI); the University of Nottingham’s Haydn Green Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (HGI, UK); Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC); GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK); Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst (SBC); and Syngenta (a company formed as a result of AstraZeneca and Novartis spinning off their seeds and crop protection businesses).

This year, ASTI will be sponsoring the participation of two teams from Malaysian universities to compete with the UK universities in one of the competition streams:

“Plant, Microbial and Environment”.

The selected teams are required to attend an online workshop led by Syngenta. This particular stream was chosen due to its pertinence in global sustainable living; and the need for further development of it in Malaysia. We hope this pre-pilot will help in advancing Malaysia’s efforts on the subject matter to reach its full potential.

Participation is free. All we need is your help to forward this poster / link with all the relevant information to those whom you know will benefit from it.

OSTB :  So to all our young inventors, designers, students and industry players if you are interested here is an opportunity to participate in these global competitions.  Just click on the links.
