KOTA KINABALU: An enforcement officer from a medical centre in Kota Belud has been identified as the index case for Sabah's new cluster today.
State Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the asymptomatic person was identified during a screening.
"Following the detection, five other Covid-19 cases were found through screenings for symptomatic people and close contacts.
"The cluster – Jalan Pasar in Kota Belud – has a cumulative total of 13 cases," he said in a statement.
Sabah recorded 109 new Covid-19 cases today, with one death in Kota Kinabalu.
Meanwhile, 112 patients were discharged today.
The bed capacity for Covid-19 cases is 5,860 units and the current usage is 14.18 per cent.
In another development, starting next Tuesday, Kota Kinabalu City Hall will allow business premises and parks to operate from 6am until midnight.
In a Facebook post, mayor Noorliza Awang Alip said dining-in during the stated operation hours is allowed at restaurants, hotels, stalls, coffee houses and food courts.
The same goes for spas, reflexology centres and other wellness centres.
"As for recreational park operation hours, standard operating procedures will be issued and take effect on Feb 23." - NST
