11 new Covid clusters in Sarawak

 

There were 11 new Covid-19 clusters declared in Sarawak today with four in the Kuching district, five in Serian, one in Sibu, and one in Selangau.

The State Disaster Management Committee in a statement said the new clusters in Kuching were:

1. Jalan DBKU (workplace), 15 positive cases
2. Jalan Tenaga (workplace), 13
3. Central Park Batu Tiga (workplace), 12
4. Kampung Muara Tebas (community), 43

In Serian, the clusters were:

1. Tanah Mawang (community), 54
2. Semada (community), 55
3. Kampung Sungai Lingsat (community), 65
4. Kluster Ensebang Plaie (community), 34
5. Batu 25 Jalan Kuching-Serian (workplace), 36

In Sibu and Selangau, the clusters were:

1. Sibu: Tanjung Kibong 2 (workplace), 17
2. Selangau: Dijih (workplace), 13

Today, the Covid-19 new cases in Sarawak rose to 1,403 from 835 yesterday, bringing the cumulative number to 90,810.

Sibu and Kuching each recorded one death from Covid, bringing the total deaths in the state to 491.
