14 areas in Johor, Sabah, Kelantan, Terengganu to go under EMCO

 

Fourteen areas in four states will go under strict lockdown.

PETALING JAYA: A total of seven areas in Terengganu – three each in Kelantan and Sabah, and one in Johor – will go under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) beginning Aug 27 and 28, the National Security Council (MKN) said.

In a statement, MKN director-general Rodzi Md Saad said Kampung Orang Asli Simpang Arang in Johor Bahru, Johor, would be under the EMCO from Aug 27 to Sept 9.

For Sabah, Kampung Sungai Imam in Tawau, Kampung Kapakaan in Keningau and Kampung Paris 3 in Kinabatangan will go under the strict lockdown from Aug 28 to Sept 10.

Other areas also under EMCO for the same period in Kelantan are Kampung Gerong in Sg Pinang, Kampung Baru Nelayan in Tumpat and Kampung Talak in Jal Besar.

In Terengganu, the Bandar Paka, Gong Gemia, Cacar Baru, Limbong, Kuala Paka, Taman Indah Permai and Telaga Mas localities will be under EMCO during the same time.

Meanwhile, the EMCO in Taman Puri Warisan, Kota Kinabalu, in Sabah and the staff quarters of Sri Datai Mining Sdn Bhd in Mukah, Sarawak, will be extended until Sept 10.

The EMCO for several localities in Sabah, Kedah, Pahang, Kelantan and Perak will be lifted tomorrow.

These include the Spanish Garden construction site in Kinta, Perak, and Taman Desa Bidara in Kuala Ketil, Baling, Kedah.

For Sabah, the localities are the factory and staff quarters of Bumi Timber Sdn Bhd in Jalan Sook; the company and staff quarters of Kosinar Sdn Bhd, Jalan Sook; Kampung Pengiran, Sipitang; and Kampung Wokok Kinuta, Kota Belud.

In Kelantan, Rodzi announced that the EMCO in five localities will be lifted tomorrow.

They are Kampung Chenerai, Kampung Lubok Kawah, Kampung Pohon Tanjong and Kampung Pak Jak in the Alor Pasir district, as well as Kampung Landar in the Kubang Gadong district.

In Pahang, the lockdown for Apartment Amber Court and Grand Ion Delemen construction site in Genting Highlands and Kampung Gadak in Rompin will also be lifted. - FMT
